Every where you turn these days, you are hearing more and more about Twitter. Twitter provides a way for individual’s to follow anyone from their neighbor, kid’s teacher, as well as today’s celebrities.
Twitter also provides way to reach a number of people from friends, clients, co-worker in a matter of minutes. Thus it is important for companies to leverage this great innovation to their advantage.
My partner and I wanted to leverage Twitter to help promote our business, as well as to aid us in keeping the content on our site fresh for our clients and site visitors.
This tutorial walks through the steps we took to accomplish this. On wijix.net, we created a space for our tweet. We choose to only display the last tweet, but the number of tweets shown is configurable.
In my research, I ran across an blog post by Remy Sharp entitled “Add Twitter to Your Blog (step-by-step)”, which was very helpful. While he gears his tutorial to a blog, the concept is the exact same. I simply modified his example to demonstrate the flexibility of the Twitter API.

The wijix Twitter Reader simply demonstrates the power and flexibility of Remy Sharp’s twitter.js script in a simple web page and a corporate website. Check it our demo and hopefully, you too can leverage the power of Twitter to keep your content fresh.
